The World Coal Institute is a non-governmental, non-profit, independent organization with membership open to coal producers and coal consumers from around the world.

The News section provides details of forthcoming Meetings and Events relating to coal and to energy and environmental issues associated with coal and its use. This section also covers items on general energy issues, coal and the climate.

Coal information Network provides detailed information on  mining, mining companies, Education and Govt. agencies, publications, etc. 

Coal Education - Kentucky Coal Council web pages are directed towards students, to teachers, to employees of the coal industry, and to the general public to increase their knowledge of coal and the coal industry. 

Coal Petrography Atlas - prepared by R.J. Gray and J.C. Crelling of Coal Carbonisation Laboratory, Dept. of Geology, Southern Illinois University, Carbondate, provides petrographic  illustrated samples of Coal, Coke, Carbon Graphite along with tutorials.
