Gas based processes

  • Midrex Direct Reduction Corporation is an international direct reduction technology company, principally known for the MIDREX ® Direct Reduction Process. This process converts iron ore into a highly metallized, low residual iron product for use in steelmaking, ironmaking, and foundry applications.
Follow the links in the home page for more information on Midrex Process, DHR/HBI, Fastmet Process, Statistics, etc.

  • HBI Production Processes
HBI is a form of DRI that has been compacted into briquettes. DRI is directly reduced iron. Commonly used as a scrap substitute in electric arc furnaces.
